About the Author

born and raised in sacramento, ca, darlene is the fourth of five children reared in a single-parent, low-income household. she began writing at age 20 as an outlet to make sense of the senselessness of the world around her. her passions include playing sports (running and volleyball), attending musicals, star trek, playing taiko drums, volunteering in her communities, promoting healing in herself and others, and maintaining her integrity. a licensed psychologist with both a private psychotherapy practice and a consulting business, she currently lives in san francisco, ca.
