In formatting the information for this week, we sought to make it a practical workbook that includes exercises that help the reader gain a greater understanding of his or her individual needs for work that gives their lives meaning as well as being professionally and personally satisfying economically and from a career prespective.

Since 1985, I have met and coached hundreds of people who found themselves challenged, many for the first time in their lives, with the task of leaving one place or type of work and finding new work that can become a greater source of joy and satisfaction than they might have ever known. Most people encountering such an experience feel a variety of emotions, most of which are negative, such as anger, resentment, self-doubt, etc. However, when this emotionality is fully charged the person is sorely limited in the ability to engage in traditional job search methodoly, including developing resumes, seeking to find advertised opportunities and the myriad of activities expected for ultimate success.
I learned that before a person can conduct an effective campaign, he or she must process the negative energy within and work to see him or herself as blessed with an opportunity to find new work that may become far better than that that was left. Yet also to use the learning experience as a mission to become a happier, more fulfilled person in the process. A fundamental philosophy of this book is, "First within, then without."
It will be my privilege to hear from you about your experiences and your response to Using You Inner Power not only to find new work, but to learn to love and appreciate the work you may have, as well.
