About the Author

Mitchell E. Marlow Sr. is a freelance writer and a published poet. He is also a member of the Inklings Society and a past member of the Troy State University Creative Writing Club. One of Mr. Marlow's poems and an artwork were featured in the first Troy State University publication of the Copper Blade Review in 1994. Most of his adult life was spent in the Atlanta area, and he now resides in Minnesota. Coming from a military family, he traveled extensively all over the United States. Mr. Marlow is also a U.S. Navy veteran and has recently won awards for his poetry from the veterans administration. The first serious writing he did was at age fourteen. It was a poem about Paul Revere. He also started writing in a ledger at the same age and continues writing entries to this day. Most of Mr. Marlow's writing involves humor. During Operation Desert Storm, in 1990, Marlow designed an all-occasion card and wrote a limerick for the USS Okinawa. Three thousand cards were mailed to the ship as a show of support for our military personnel during this time of Middle East tension. This generous deed was rewarded by the mayor of Dothan who awarded him with the Key to the City of Dothan, Alabama. Mr. Marlow is a graduate of Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He received AS and AA degrees from George C. Wallace State Community College in Dothan, Alabama, and in 1993 he graduated from Troy State University with a BS degree in education.
