ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lois Dahlberg was born July 2 1916 to Ernest Fowler and Pearl Posey Harris in Courtenay North Dakota and was raised in Minnesota Since 1942 she has lived in the Tacoma Washington area where she completed her education graduating from the first Certified Dental Assistant class held at Tacoma Vocational Technical College in 1958 Lois loves people especially the little ones Her greatest wish she confided is to have a close individual relationship with each one of her descendants After being widowed in 1994 Lois s writing pursuit has taken precedence over other hobbies and interests She calls herself a late bloomer and can still be found participating in creative writing classes Much of this writer s work has been published in magazines newspapers and anthologies She has taught genealogy classes and still has great interest in family history nonfiction and poetry With her husband of 60 years R Russell Dahlberg she raised a successful family of four children Ralph Gordon and Lyle Dahlberg and Annette Dahlberg Curran Her descendants many of whom are being educated in Washington California Idaho Utah Oregon and Arizona now number 75 This includes two great great grandchildren living in Idaho Falls Idaho Lois is proud to be a member of the International Society of Poets the Tacoma Writers Club Friends of the Parkland Spanaway Library and Daughters of the American Revolution

About the Author:

The author was, born on July 2nd 1916 to Ernest and Pearl Abra Posey, Harris, in a small shanty on the western plains of North Dakota. She was raised in Minnesota, where she married and became Lois Harris Dahlberg. They moved to Washington State in 1942, where she, with her husband, raised a family of four who have since provided her with posterity of one hundred and eight descendents, all of whom are worthy citizens of our great Nation. The author had completed her education in Tacoma, where she graduated from the first certified dental assistant class at Tacoma Technical College in 1958. She continued a lifetime interest in writing by taking courses at PLU, Pierce College, Clover Park, and sessions at various local Senior Centers and was active in the local Writer's club. Much of her work has been published in Anthologies, The Tacoma SR. Scene, The Church News, and various other books and magazines for which many awards were granted. In 1982 she received her Sr. Tutor ESOL in the Lauback System after some years of teaching English as a second language. Her first book, "FEELINGS AND EXPRESSIONS", a book of poetry and prose, was published by whispering firs press in 1999. Having been slowed by family illnesses and her husbands' passing, in 1994, Lois has not deterred from her writing goals, but continues to go forward. She now presents, HUMILITY, HUMOR AND HERITAGE, her new book of Poetry and Prose for your enjoyment, hoping You will find reading pleasure among her chosen words and phrases.
