About the Author

Steven Branfman enjoys an international reputation as a successful potter, writer, teacher, and businessman. In 1977 he founded The Potters Shop and School, which has become nationally known. Steven's raku ware has appeared in over 150 group and one-person exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the US and abroad, and can be found in numerous permanent collections. He is the author of Raku: A Practical Approach and The Potters Professional Handbook, and writes frequently for craft and pottery magazines. Articles by or about him have appeared in Ceramics Monthly, The Crafts Report, Clay Times, Boston Globe, Studio Potter, and Pottery Making Illustrated. Steven currently teaches at Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA.
