About the Author
Dr. Mel Heller is a retired professor and former superintendent and has taught at all levels from elementary school to graduate school. As a recognized authroity on leadership and staff development, he has received many honors and awards and has seved as a consultant to numerous school districts and to state and national agencies. Dr. Nancy Sindelar is a consultant to schools in the areas of teacher mentorhip, the development of high performing teacher teams, standards-based curriculum and assessment alignment and the collection, use and interpretation of student test data. Nancy is an Executive Consultant on assessment for the Amerian Association of School Administrators (AASA), has spoken at numerous national confeences and writes on educational topics. She is the author of using Test Data for Stduent Achievemt: Answers to NO Child Left Behind and Assessment-Powered Teaching. She brings to these endeavors her experience as a teacher, department chair, assistant principal, assistant superintendent as well as a university professor.
