This manual has been published because I wanted to help beginning technicians get the information they really need to be successful in the permanent cosmetics industry.  The information in this manual is gleaned from twenty six years in the permanent cosmetics industry, five of those years being on the board of the SPCP and fifty years in the beauty industry.  The manual was written in collaboration with Pati  Pavlik, one the most renowned icons of the permanent makeup industry.

About the Author

I have over 50 years in the Beauty Industry: I've been a Beauty Salon owner for 30+ years, a Permanent Cosmetic Technician for 26+ years, and a Permanent Cosmetic Educator for 16+ years. I have been a member of the SPCP and have worked with at least 4 different plastic surgeons.
I was on the SPCP board for 4 years and for an additional 2 years as their AV (audio/visual) advisor.  I received one of 10 awards given worldwide for my contribution to the Permanent Cosmetic Industry.   While on the board I helped start the website for SPCP and wrote many articles for the website and their newsletter.  During my professional career I was invited to participate in writing national exams for certifying technicians.  Both my Resource Manual and my Fundamentals Manual were used as resources for those exams.
I started in the Beauty Industry because I loved people and helping them look their best.  It has been an amazing adventure, and even more spectacular to be able to help them look their best permanently. I have immensely enjoyed my wonderful experiences in learning to love, and help my clients in their pursuit of permanent beauty.
I have always had a constant thirst for knowledge about the industry. I took several classes because I felt my original training was extremely inadequate. Even so I was happy to be part of an exciting profession. Eventually I could see that many others were receiving the same inadequate training as I had initially received.  I wanted to help them with the experience and knowledge that I had gleaned from my numerous studies: classes I had taken from my association with prominent icons in the industry.
While I was on the SPCP board I entertained the idea of writing a comprehensive manual on all aspects of permanent makeup.  It took me five years to complete my Resource Manual, and from that I created my Fundamentals Manual.  I am very pleased with the results of my determination to assist those that are interested in this exciting profession.
