Very young children will be enthralled by the vivid, close-up photos of dinosaur replicas in this fascinating addition to the My First board book series (My First Farm Board Book, My First Truck Board Book, etc.). The chunky little volume uses two-page spreads to showcase different types of prehistoric creatures (divided into age-appropriate categories like "Leaf-eaters," "Small dinosaurs," "Big dinosaurs"). Selected individuals (Dimorphodon, Elasmosaurus, and the ubiquitous "Mighty T-rex") are featured on their own spreads, with teeth, legs, tails, and eyes labeled. The multisyllabic names of dinosaurs will be over the heads of most toddling readers, but at the very least, they'll enjoy hearing their grownup reading partners attempt to pronounce them.
