About the Author

I grew up in a small southern town with lots of freedom to play and explore my surroundings. As with all childhoods, there were ups and downs, but I feel that these experiences served as a springboard for writing children's books. In my adult years, my experience as a teacher and counselor further developed the writing framework that later grew into The Bayshore Mysteries. 

My idea for writing a children's mystery series came from my fascination with the unknown that began in childhood and has continued to this day. I have always been drawn to mystery, suspense, and things of a strange nature. As a child, I never thought about writing but knew I had an inquisitive mind and a vivid imagination. Whether it was exploring my surroundings, reading Nancy Drew books or watching Sci-Fi and horror flicks on television, the quest to solve a mystery was always there.

At this point in my life, I know that writing, and especially children's books, is something that I have to do. In spite of all its ups and downs and many frustrations, writing for me is an ultimate form of self-fulfillment.
