في هذا الكتاب (الجزء الأول ) نتناول مؤلفات الكاتب الأتية : "بيتر كاملسلد"(1) و "اذا استمرت الحرب"(2) و "هائم ...متجول"(3) و "ديميان" (4) و"تحت العجلة"(5) وبشئ من الاسهاب كتابه "سيدهارثا"(6) .وبإذن الله سنتناول كتابيه "لعبة الكرات الزجاجية"(7) و " نَرْجِس و قولدمند"(8) في كتاب أخر(الجزء الثاني ). هيرمان هيسى من أسرة مسيحية إنشقلت بالتبشير وترعرع في جو فكرى ومنذ طفولته بدأت مواهبه في الرسم والشعر تبرز. ولد في كالو(ورتمبرغ) بألمانيا في 2 يوليو 1877 وتوفي في مونتانيولا تيسن بسويسرا في 9 أغسطس 1962. عاش بداية شبابه مع عائلته المحافظة وجوها المدافع عن البروتستانتية بشكل مفرط؛ وكان هذا السبب الذي دفعه للهرب والاستقلال عن السلطة العائلية والاعتماد على نفسه والإنخراط في مجال العمل وبشكل قاسي، حيث بدأ عمله كساعاتي ومن ثم إلى بائع كتب في مكتبة ومن ثم إتخذ التأليف والكتابة منهج في حياته وعمله وتزوج ثلاث مرات.تضمنا سيرة ذاتية مختصرة للكاتب تحت ملاحظات(9) .من أشهر رواياته هي "لعبة الكريات الزجاجية " وهي غزيرة وذات أسلوب صوفي ثقيل الشرح.
