Synopsis
'Musings at Death's Door: an ancient bicultural Asian-Australian ponders about Australian society'. This book (my sixth) sets out my considered conclusions fearlessly but fairly. It lays into the subservience and incompetence of our politicians, the sham of democracy as we experience it, the racket of asylum seeking, the professional ethnic,and the progressive breakdown of family, in the main. In contrast, I extol the egalitarianism of Australian society (a beacon to our neighbours), the incredibly successful integration of our diverse ethno-cultural communities, and the nation's maturation into a modern, cosmopolitan and tolerant polity. I then suggest that we join the USA, the benefits being undeniable; and an evaluation of our national icons to recognise the contributions of immigrants.

About the Author
Author Raja Arasa Ratnam is a bicultural Asian-Australian octogenarian, who has published 6 books. These were based upon his experiences, both as an immigrant into Australia, and his work, at the level of Director, on ethnic affairs & multiculturalism, citizenship & national identity, refugee & humanitarian entry, and migrant integration. Four of his five non-fiction books have been recommended by the US Review of Books.
All the books have also received most favourable reviews and/or significant pre-publication endorsements. As the prejudice and discrimination he experienced in his adopted nation did not penetrate his cultural comfort zone, there are no recriminations in his books. Biculturalism, within the Family of Man, with mutual acceptance of one's fellow citizens, underpins these books.
