Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Brigade Machine Gun Company, 97 Infantry Brigade, 32nd Division, covering March 1916 to February 1918 across 216 pages. It names 80 places across 118 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one report or narrative, six Operation Orders, three appendices, one map and one diagram. Among the papers are: Operation orders 14th Company Machine Gun Corps No. 43. The diary opens at Warloy on 4 March 1916. 1916 is spent at Warloy, Cambrin, Bouzincourt, Bethune and Contay. 1917 at Coxyde, Right Sub-Sector Nieuport, Beamont-Hamel, Uxem and Savy. 1918 at Mondovi Wood, Autingues, Zouafques, G Camp and Cyrille Van Damme. It closes at Mondovi Wood on 21 February 1918. Warloy is where it spent longest, 66 days across six separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 40 and it came back to Bethune seven separate times.
