Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the Brigade Machine Gun Company, 171 Infantry Brigade, 57th Division, covering February 1917 to February 1918 across 58 pages. It names 24 places across 35 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries one report or narrative. Among the papers are: Administrative instructions issued with O.O. 65. The diary opens at Grantham on 10 February 1917. 1917 is spent at Armentieres, Fleurbaix, Porta Clous Farm Fleurbaix, Autingues and Porta Clous Fm. Fleurbaix. 1918 at Armentieres, Steenwerck and Estaires. It closes at Estaires on 23 February 1918. Armentieres is where it spent longest, 122 days across six separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 55. Trench and battlefield features named in the diary include Porta Clous Farm Fleurbaix and Elbow Farm.
