My name is Sean Peyton Ross. This book tells the story of my life from my preemie birth, on through my school years, to my time in the US Navy and then Georgia's State Defense Force. Growing up in a small Georgia town had its ups and downs. Plenty of love to go around and a sense of community, but it was also riddled with poverty and tarnished with bullying. Serving also had its ups and downs, from excelling in my chosen field to suffering a horrific injury that left me with the disability that saw me discharged. I've never been a quitter, and this is the story of how I rose to each day's challenge, and will continue to do so.

This book is to serve as a journal and a warning of how difficult, cruel and ugly life can be sometimes.
It also serves as a guide to those who read this book so that readers will hopefully be able to learn from what I have written. It is my hopes that this book will inspire the readers of this book to try harder to improve both themselves and the world they live in.
The people of this world cannot advance socially if we only dwell on the triumphs of yesterday and do not know of or take heed of the mistakes and sins of the past. One small change at a time, by individuals, can cause a tidal wave of change.

Sean Ross lives in Barnesville, Georgia with his wife and son. He has lived there most of his life and built a house there with his VA pension.
Sean Ross is a battered survivor of nearly 40 years of physical, mental, economic and social bullying. Since he knows he is not alone in experiencing this, he always tries his best by volunteering and attempting to make the world a better place, one small change at a time.
He is a veteran of the Navy and the Georgia State Defense Force and is currently working on a project called "The Land Rover Discovery Recovery Project". This project includes buying, rebuilding and taking a Land Rover on an expedition.
This project will be the focus of his next upcoming book.

I was basically a late term miscarriage born by c section at 6 and 3/4 months old. 5 times I should have died. I am and always have lived on borrowed time. I was kept alive in an incubator by the doctors until I weighed enough and developed enough to survive outside the incubator. I was always a sickly child and was small. The other kids beat up and bullied on me. All my life, through school where I excelled in academics I was beaten up and bullied on. I was put down by the kids who wanted to be bad and the rich kids who thought they were the last word in society. I was bullied in the Navy, In college, at work and in the State Defense Force where I spoke up for the troops and inadvertently caused 3 generals to be fi red after a mission of mercy from a tornado in my hometown started going awry. I had to leave the State Defense Force under duress from the Commanding General. I now have been black listed and no one remembers the good I tried to do while in uniform. I now live in fear for my family and myself. This book is to serve as a journal and as a warning of how diffi cult, cruel and ugly life can be sometimes.
