About this title

From the Back Cover

Editor RUTHERFORD HAYES PLATT, JR. (1894-1975) originally brought this work to light in 1926. In The Forgotten Books of Eden, he has collected a number of apocryphal biblical writings. The authors of these works are unknown, having hidden themselves behind the names of the great religious legends that they wrote about. The works found here are not even considered part of the official "Apocrypha," despite their timeless wisdom and helpful additions to Christian, Jewish, and Islamic understanding and lore.

The book opens with The First Book of Adam and Eve, originally written by an unnamed Egyptian and copied into many other languages over the centuries. Also included in this book are:

* The Second Book of Adam and Eve
* The Secrets of Enoch
* The Psalms of Solomon
* The Odes of Solomon
* The Letter of Aristeas
* The Fourth Book of Maccabees
* The Story of Ahikar
* The Testament of Reuben
* and many more...
