Synopsis
In 2008, Susan Barnett was starting to rebuild her life, after a painful divorce. She had found love again and was looking forward to the future. However, In November of that year, sitting on a blue settee in a hospital consulting room, Susan received the news that would change her life forever. She had cancer - the prognosis was not good. With a unique brand of humour and insight, Susan gently guides us along the journey which took her from the blue settee day - through cancer treatment - to facing up to her own mortality as well as coming face to face with her past. And on that journey she asks questions of faith and trust that we all tend to ask ourselves in times of trials and fears and shows how our responses to those questions are often very different from person to person. This book will take you through the highs and lows, the laughs and the tears of a very personal moment in time, but within this story you will see how, from this life changing encounter with cancer and with God, hope slowly began to grow. About the Author
Susan Barnett is a qualified social worker and is currently the Children's Service Manager. She was inspired to write 'The Blue Settee' after facing her own mortality and coming face to face with her past. Susan lives with her husband Ron in Nottinghamshire, UK.
