From the Author
The 2nd edition (592 pages) includes a significant increase in content relative to the 1st edition (280 pages). The 2nd edition adds content from the release 8, 9 and 10 versions of the specifications, including LTE Advanced. It also adds sections on Time Division Duplexing (TDD), Voice over LTE and Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Services (MBMS) over LTE. In addition, existing sections have been expanded to allow more comprehensive explanations. A companion website is available for sample downloads and an LTE visualisation tool. This version of the book has a full colour cover with black and white content.
About the Author
Chris Johnson is a Principal Engineer with Nokia Siemens Networks. He has been working in mobile telecommunications for the last 18 years, spending most of this time focused on UMTS. He has been involved with LTE for the last 5 years, providing a range of training sessions and generating various guidelines. Chris has previously authored the 'Radio Access Networks for UMTS - Principles and Practice' title. He has also contributed chapters within the 'Radio Network Planning and Optimisation for UMTS' and 'HSDPA/HSUPA for UMTS' titles.
