Chances are -- unless, perhaps, you're Paris Hilton -- you've had to interview for a job at some point in your life. Employment interviews are a fact of life, as sure as bad weather and often as unwelcome. And in a cut-throat job market in which more qualified candidates are competing for a smaller number of openings, the stakes for job seekers are higher than ever. They desperately need an edge. But they're also busy. They don't have the time for a tome on the fine art of interviewing. They need a survival guide. This book, written by veteran Executive Recruiter Todd Moster based on the thousands of job candidates he's interviewed, is for them.
A 1982 graduate of UCLA School of Law who went on to serve as a prosecutor and law firm business litigation partner, Moster tried numerous cases before joining one of the world's top recruiting companies in 1998. Always dogged in preparing trial witnesses, he soon became notorious for his relentless preparation of candidates for their job interviews. He took that emphasis on candidate training to yet another level in 2008 when he founded his own legal search firm, Moster Legal Placement, Inc., and launched the Interview BootCamp® coaching program, which brings his interview techniques to job seekers in all occupations.
Job seekers in today's resume-saturated market have only the briefest opportunity to make a positive impression on prospective employers -- particularly in a Google-paced world where attention spans can be as short as a tweet. They need a plan. Concise, occasionally subversive and always entertaining, The Underground Guide to Job Interviewing is the intelligent job seeker's roadmap to interview and career success.

"Love it! Todd Moster has created an easy, fun, slightly snarky read on a critical topic: Job Interviewing. I can't tell you how many times I have interviewed people who really could have used this book. If you're even slightly leaning towards buying this, do it! It is packed with helpful information and is presented in a non-pretentious, enjoyable, straight-forward fashion. I wish I had something like it for my end of the desk - the employer doing the interview!"

"Much like a television show that reveals the secrets of how magic tricks are performed, The Underground Guide to Job Interviewing peels back the veil of mystery surrounding the job interview. The book presents a wealth of information forged from years of Todd Moster's experience as a top recruiter in a highly competitive market as well as his own unique experience in interviews. Unlike other books written on the topic of interview strategy, Todd's Guide finds a refreshing balance between being a highly informative manual and a humorous page-turner."
--Bradley McGavin, Esq., Director of Risk Management and Staff Counsel, St. John Knits, Irvine, California
"Todd covers all the bases involved in conducting an effective interview, from the genuine importance of knowing "what do you want to be when you grow up?" to knowing your own resume so that you can respond quickly and confidently to the interviewer, and having good questions prepared for the interviewer to facilitate an effective dialogue...Along the way, Todd employs graphics which are not only hilarious but set forth important principles. Whether you are looking for a job, or looking for an employee (though Todd is clear that this is not a book for employers), you would be well-served by reading The Underground Guide to Job Interviewing."
