About the Author

Connie Colwell Miller is a writer, editor, and teacher who lives and works in Mankato, Minnesota. She studied writing at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and went on to earn her Masters in Fine Arts in creative writing at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where she won an award for her poetry manuscript. She has written over 25 books for kids and published parenting essays and poetry online and in journals around the country. She spends her free time goofing around with her husband and three young, highly spirited children.

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1975, Cristian Bernardini is a graphic designer and a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires. Currently Cristian does design work and illustration for various studios and publishers, as well as developments in the field of animation for both television media and media in general.

I've been working as a freelance illustrator for about 14 years now - before that I was a primary school teacher, and so you won't be surprised to hear that I've done a lot of work for educational publishers. He was born in Leicester in 1966, and has lived in various places since - Loughborough, Maidstone, Oxford and Thame. And he's currently resident in north Leeds with his wife Sue and their sons Eddie and Jonah.

Jill Kalz is the author of more than 70 children's books. Her picture book Farmer Cap (Picture Window Books) was a finalist for a 2008 Minnesota Book Award and the winner of the Readers' Choice Award and an AEP Distinguished Achievement Award. Jill also writes short stories and poetry for adults. She works as a children's book editor and lives in Minnesota with her charismatic dog, Tuckerbean.
