Genesis, Volume 1, is a fully-colorized version of the original Hebrew Biblical text with a line-by-line corresponding colorized English translation. The color of the Hebrew words are matched to their English translation on the same line with Hebrew on the left and English on the right. Verbs are shown in red and annotated throughout the text. No longer must students of Biblical Hebrew search verb books in order to find an difficult verb root. Every new shoresh (verb root) is shown and explained, especially in all cases where a root consonant has been dropped or whenever the verb appears in an unusual form. Nouns appear in blue or black, prepositions are in purple, and adjectives are printed in shades of green. This colorized system makes it easy to understand every part of compound Hebrew words, phrases and sentences. Explanations of the original Hebrew and its translation are right there in the margins of each page. Anyone who can read Hebrew letters can now begin to enjoy Genesis in the original Biblical Hebrew!

Steve Babbit’s interest in modern Israel and the Hebrew language began in June of 1967 with the re-taking of the Old City of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1970, he lived in Israel for half a year and since then has returned many times. In 1985 Steve studied Biblical Hebrew in graduate school and later studied Modern Hebrew at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Additionally, he has studied Arabic and Aramaic, languages which help the student of Hebrew to better understand Biblical Hebrew and its roots.
