Samantha Smith and Alexa Smith’s parents divorced when they were four and six years old, making them the first of their friends to be part of a divorced family. They quickly learned that their lives as they knew it would never be the same and their lives compared to their friend’s would also be different. As they navigated elementary school and high school, they learned through trial and error, how to survive: two houses, two sets of rules and the many additional issues they had to face with two homes and divorced parents.
