Cassandra had a life that was perfect on the outside, but inside was a different story. Tied to an abusive tyrant of a husband, she has crawled into a protective shell of her own making, determined to make her marriage work. Until one day she meets a man who challenges her ideas and makes her long for a life and a love she has always believed to be just out of her reach. Dominic had a beautiful wife, luxurious home and good friends. But his world suddenly came crashing down around him in a maelstrom of betrayal and violence. The one thing that offered stability was a beautiful angel with chestnut brown hair and emerald green eyes. With her soft kisses and warm embrace, he suddenly felt a love that he had never before experienced. Even though they both were married to other people, Dominic was determined to make Cassandra his! Fighting to be together despite others who were determined to keep them apart, Cassie and Nicky find a love and passion that others talk about but few find.

Vesna Hermann has always had a passion and flare for reading and writing. Her past had always haunted her, and to some degree, controlled her. It wasn't until she had her near-death experience that she decided a change in her life needed to be made for the better of herself and her family. Born and raised on Bosnian soil, her family never had much more than the basic necessities to live. The war took what little they had, even claiming the life of her father in 1993 and their house two years later. With no where left to go, they fled to Vojnic, Croatia, where they found shelter for two years. During their time in Croatia they were informed of American sponsors. From there they spoke to an agency about moving to America, the land of the free. Finally, they were sponsored by a Mr. & Mrs. Wemple, who taught them to speak English, helped them find jobs, helped them to seek medical care and anything else they needed. Vesna found a job at a movie theater where she met the love of her life and adored husband of 6 years, Michael Hermann. They now reside in Jacksonville, North Carolina due to Michael loyally defending his country, serving in the United States Marine Corps. Together they have two gorgeous children, Bryan and Helene. It was during Michale's second deployment that she started constructing the book Born in Hell, which she found to be very therapeutic.
