About the Author:
Jennise Conley is presently working on a PhD in psychology with an emphasis on cognition and instruction, allowing her to draw upon her research and knowledge in an effort to make learning fun and exciting. She holds an undergraduate degree in social science education and a master’s degree in educational psychology. As the author of several educational books, she seeks to create educational materials that are brain-based and engaging. Conley lives with her husband in Arizona. Chicago native Jillian Conley began collecting quotes several years ago as a hobby. Her curiosity in quotes began with a book passed down from her grandfather. Jillian’s grandfather gave a vintage copy of Best Quotations for all Occasions by Lewis C. Henry to her father who later gave it to Jillian on her 14th birthday. Her favorite quote was written in the card that her father gave her with the book: “Associate yourself with men of good quality, if you esteem your own reputation for 'tis better to be alone than in bad company.” George Washington This quote is now framed on her wall, above the desk which she spends most of her time journaling and quote collecting. To Jillian, this quote means that persons become like the people with whom they associate, that who you are is reflected in whom you associate yourself with. Since the day she first opened Best Quotations for all Occasions, Jillian has been fascinated by what other people have said about anything. This curiosity has led to an insatiable appetite for documenting wonderful quotations from persons of all walks of life.
