Why another economics book? There must be thousands of books on economics. So what excuse is there for adding yet another book to this huge pile? Most of the other economics books are lengthy, or loaded with mathematics or technical jargon, or just plain dull to read. Economics wasn’t called “the dismal science” for nothing. This book is very short. It is not at all mathematical or technical, and it is lively to read. It still includes all the important basic ideas and concepts of economics. But it explains them in words that are easy to understand. One might call it an executive summary of mainline economics. I think that’s a pretty good excuse for yet another book on economics.
