best SAT/ACT/SAT2 math review available on the market, December 12, 2011
I tutor a wide range of students from those scoring as close to 2400 as possible to those with disabilities and accomodations. Having been in the tutoring business for over eight years, I constantly search for newer and better materials. For my students who need review in various specific math areas, this book is so much better than anything else on the market. It has made a large difference in connecting the dots.
Excellent for Math struggles, January 31, 2011
I tutor tough cases and I bought this book to help a student in Math with a math disability. This book taught me! You only have to cover chapters 1 - 6 for the general SAT test. The other chapters, beginning with Chapter 7 (Logarithms, etc.) are for those taking the specialized test. I thought the book would only cover the basics because of its simplicity. I was wrong, this book uses very little language and gives you just the facts to help you approach difficult or tricky word problems. I have even learned additional ways to prep my students, that are much less complex. This book is a struggling Math student's dream and a high scorer's heaven. It makes things simple and gives help for scoring higher and taking less time on the test questions.
The BEST ACT/SAT Study Guide on the Market!, October 28, 2009
Before reading this book, I was lost on the ACT/SAT. The types of questions, especially on the math portion, always confused me. I bought book after book, but most them helped very little. I tried Kaplan's programs, however they often simply frustrated me more with little change in my scores. Finally, I found The Math Study Guide and it blew me away. The way things are explained in this book make the ACT/SAT much less scary. Each test (ACT, SAT, and SAT Subject Tests) has its own section with hints, tips and examples for which ever test you're studying for. These come in really handy when taking the test, and they definitely boosted my score. I believe that it is because of this book that I did so well on the ACT and am going to college. I cannot recommend this product enough! A++
