About the Author

from the AUTHORS

Writing to positively change the world
Through retina, ear, or fingertip
All at the same time . . .
(And, sometimes we get to rhyme!)

Peace.

~ Karen
& Nuru

[Karen E. Dabney's Biography is available on her Author's Page.
Nuru feels sharing her own thoughts in writing is all the info she wants read but we were able to get the following out of her!]

I write and write.
Then I write some more.
My thoughts are constantly at war.
I fight, all right.
Most times some more.
My brain gets drained
Out the words pour!
And I soar!

Enjoy!

WARNING!

This book is designed to re-order your mind.
If you are easily led, can you be well ...
Read?

Embrace the inevitable before it manifests.
Even those who resist are swept forever.
Stabilized; they drift.
Everything changes; essentially remaining the same.
Perhaps.

Build. Any way you feel will fit.

Do we perceive our perceptions?
Depending on whose point of view?
I see. You?

The MINE's eye never blinks.
It hypervisualates.

Tears
Fully.

MIND fully.
Re-Structure.

So, you thought ignorance could be bliss?
No more, sense this!

Now, your brain is prepped and jogged.
You're ready to astride the words inside.
Hold tight!
Let us go!

~ Nuru

From the Inside Flap

Battalion

Others' Eyes are in my head,
Open, reposed, though They are dead.
They're sheep to count across my bed,
As I try to black out all that RED.
They blink.

Sweat runs in rivers from my skin.

My body's smelting from within.
I allow myself to rock and moan ...
"Shut up! MAN UP!" I roar.
They stare.

I break and scream aloud sometimes:
"I HAD NO CHOICE! I passed a test!"
Goddamn medals don't make me proud.
How bout a game of chess ...
or Risk?
They glower.

My
kid's alive but he won't know me.
I feel ... believe that's a good thing to be.
They glint.

Bluntin my brain and drownin it dumb.
Gettin numb to stop the pain.
Feelin temporarily sane.
Still FEELIN that phantom, though ...
They seep.

"YO, CLAMSHELL!" I yell.
They widen.

Hell . . .

I don't need Others' Eyes to see
What blinding Them has done to me!

Sometimes They wink.

~ Nuru
