About the Author

In 2001, Trish Foster gave up a 9-to-5 career in finance to be with her dogs 24/7. Following her passion, she established a successful business, Kufinnka Kennels and Cattery, boarding dogs, cats (and occasional other waifs), in Kildare, Ireland. The numerous untrained dogs that have stayed with her at Kufinnka inspired her to write this book. “It never ceases to dismay and slightly amuse me when I see a dog frantically leading its owner down the path to the kennels.” Many dog owners (I prefer to call them “handlers” or “carers”) have such busy lives they do not have the time to take their dogs to training classes. This book outlines simple and effective training commands designed to give you and your dog a better quality of life. A breeder of champion Finnish Spitz and Lapphunds, Trish enjoys showing her dogs both at home and abroad. As well as being a qualified Pet Bereavement Coach, Trish is also an expert in mobile and social media strategies for small- to medium-sized businesses. Sadly, the global recession took its toll on Kufinnka and, with no improvement in sight the kennels closed in 2011. Trish is in the process of starting up a new business within the Pet Market.
