Synopsis

When a gold coin heist turns out badly a pair of idiotic crooks hook-up with some moronic thieves (and a movie star) in order to steal the secret KFC chicken recipe.  Along the way they reveal (among many other things) the connection between Gilligan's Island and the devil, what Salman Rushdie and Elvis have in common with Col. Sanders, why Betty was never a vitamin and what Bootsy Collins does in his spare time. It also deal with the whole "why did the chicken cross the road" conundrum.

"Because of technology, we no longer make history. History happens to us." I think it was Camus who said that. Or maybe Sartre. One of them. I know it wasn't Elvis. He said: "Ambition is a dream with a V-8 engine," which is pretty good coming from the same guy who said, "Man, I really dig Vegas." If you're wondering what any of this has to do with my novel, BIRDBRAIN, then odds are you haven't yet read it, or rather you have and you are still confused because the book's so damn weird. Hey, I know the book is weird, I wrote it, but sometimes weird is good, Sometimes weird is just what you need to get you through your morning because what with all the new weaponry, the new communications, the bombings and hurricanes and global warming and all that, the world's going to hell in a hand basket and the only thing that can comfort you, and make you forget your troubles, is a oddball story about a two morons who try to steal some gold coins then get mixed up with a gang of idiots (lead by a mastermind who may or may not be Bill Murray) and set off to steal the secret KFC recipe. Come to think of it, that doesn't sound all that weird after all. Judge for yourself. Maybe my weird is your normal. I don't know who said that, but it sounds good.
