Current Topics in Cellular Volume 29 is a collection of papers that deals with dynamic macromolecular interactions, ligand binding, multi-enzyme complex formation, the regulation of fatty acid uptake, and synthesis in mammary or adipose tissues. Glycerolipids comprise mostly the total lipid content of the secretory product of those cells—mammalian milk. The paper notes that a counter-regulatory hormone collaborating with insulin in the regulation of lipid metabolism in the lactating mammary cell, does not act via cyclic AMP.
