Ida B. Wells-Barnett's harrowing account of the racially motivated anarchy that descended on New Orleans and her indictment of how the local press fanned the flames of racial hatred is as hard-hitting and shocking as it was when it was first published. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in the history of African Americans in the USA and the appalling atrocities they suffered.
