Eric is the author of the journal article "Terrorists in Prison: The Challenge Facing Corrections" (Inside Homeland Security, Fall 2007). He was the guest speaker on prison terrorism issues for the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute at its homeland security conferences in 2007 and 2011. Eric retired from the United States Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2011. He is certified in homeland security at its highest proficiency level by the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security. As an educator and law enforcement officer, he was assigned as a counterterrorism trainer for several hundred law enforcement officers. Eric authored prison counterterrorism training handbooks and pamphlets and created over a dozen counterterrorism training programs for Federal Bureau of Prisons and state and local law enforcement and corrections agencies.
