Flint, Michigan in the early sixties was an industrial juggernaut driven by General Motors. Everything in Flint depended on GM, which employed from 80,000 to 100,000 people. It was the home of Louis Pattok and his pretty young wife, a student at the University of Michigan. Louis was a street "stock salesman" and broker. He scoured the streets and outlying areas of Flint, calling on old accounts. He experienced every kind of client one could imagine. He was a natural. Quickly he was drawn into situations involving millions of "off the books" cash, securities and diamonds. His instinct for this type of dealing was a gift of great value to others. But it leaves him on the edge and starts to affect his relationship with his beautiful, intelligent wife. Other women of equal beauty and intelligence are attracted to him - somehow he juggles it all. Many of his working clients believe that the great city cannot continue. Louis plans an exit but he has miles to go. He cannot extract himself. It was a push. Flint was a push.
