About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Tom Buzbee grew up in rural Calhoun County in southern Arkansas, nicknamed “Hogskin”. He graduated from Tinsman High School in 1953 along with eight other classmates. He attended night classes at Florida Southern College, University of Tampa, University of Maryland, and Antelope Valley College in California, while serving in the United States Air Force. He graduated with a Bachelor degree from Ouachita Baptist University in 1966 and a Master’s Degree from OBU in 1968. He spent ten years in the United States Air Force during which time he was stationed in Texas, Illinois, Florida, California, Morocco, and Turkey. He was a warrior in the “War on Poverty” in the 1960s. He practiced the “art of preaching” and experimented in church in the ‘60s and ‘70s. He taught personal development classes at a Louisiana prison for first-offenders employed by a non-profit organization. He sold heavy equipment parts, managed a skating rink, owned and operated a retail store in a rural area. He has been married to the former Marilyn Ritchie for 60 years and been the “student” of their three children, Paula, Bill, and Mike. He currently resides in Louisiana.
