About the Author:
Bhojwani was born in occupied France of Indian parents. Hers was one of the few Hindu families to persist in Pakistan post partition. She finished high school in Southern California in 1958 as an exchange student - . Monica married and moved to Gibraltar - the place that had been home to her parents at the start of WWII and this book. Spain sealed the border with Gibraltar in 1969 forcing economic hardship on the British colony. Monica, her husband and their 3 young children left for Canada and then the Canary Islands, where they settled and lived for thirty years.
