From the Author:
Nothing seems more natural and appropriate as a subject of poetic meditation than butterflies - those seemingly free and joyous spirits of the air.  They are lovely in contour, color, and grace and their mere presence is a salute to the Creator and His Harmony.

Butterflies combine in a singular degree beauty and sentiment.  They typify in their coming the revival of those delights that belong to and constitute spring and summer.  Immortality is suggested by their annual return, as if again and again they had defeated the hateful winter.  They are, therefore, appropriately associated with the brighter side of nature - creatures of perpetual spring and merriment.

A world without butterflies would be a world without natural poetry.

This is why it came as no surprise when I found myself inspired by the idea of blending the brilliance and whimsy of classic poetry with the magic and mystery of nature's winged-lovelies into an artistic expression of my appreciation for both by compiling and editing this book of 30 Classic and Vintage Poems About Butterflies

Thankfully, I had much to work with.  In my research I found delightful and enchanting compositions about these gossamer-beauties from some of my favorite poets, including Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Victor Hugo, Mary Darby Robinson, Joseph Warton, and D. H. Lawrence.

If you share my love for classical literature or butterflies, you'll find this compilation spellbinding.  The carefully selected rhymes and prose will tickle your mind, stir your emotions, and rouse your senses all at once, making this a treasured experience.

Additionally, with your purchase, a portion of the proceeds have been donated to the National Butterfly Center, owned and managed by its parent organization, the North American Butterfly Association (NABA), making this a gift that truly keeps giving.

Thank you for your purchase, and in essence, for joining our effort in helping future generations experience the wonders of our winged-friends for years to come.
