Implementing the Stakeholder based Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) Measurement Model for Software Projects - Softcover
Synopsis
Software projects today are often characterized by poor quality, schedule overruns and high costs. One of the approaches to address the poor success rate is to track the project progress with a stakeholder driven measurement model that is objective and validated - theoretically and empirically. In this backdrop, based on the Goal-Question-Metric (GQM) model this book proposes a generic and objective measurement model for a software project with eight key measures based on the value propositions of the stakeholders. The measurement model is validated (i) theoretically with measurement theory criteria and (ii) empirically with case studies and a global survey representing IT industry practitioners.

About the Author
Dr Prashanth Harish Southekal is the founder Director of Catyeus (www.catyeus. com) an Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) company which offers the ALM product "Projectile" for managing IT Portfolios, Projects and Operations. He has close to 20 years of IT portfolio/project management and enterprise architecture experience from companies such as Accenture, SAP AG and General Electric. Dr. Prashanth holds PhD in IT Portfolio Project Management, MS in Information Technology, BS in Mechanical Engineering, and numerous industry certifications. He is based in Calgary, Canada and he can be reached at prashanth.southekal@catyeus.com.
