As the evil nature of this mysterious object is revealed, readers will find themselves hoping that its influence can be discovered and stopped but will come to understand that its appearance at this time and place was far from accidental. Despite long dormant periods, this evil has emerged before in Civil War Maine and ancient Egypt with deadly results. End Lines, takes readers on a unsettling journey that does not promise a happy fate for the “good guys”.

About the Author

I was born and raised in the coastal Maine town of Old Orchard Beach. As the youngest of eight children, I experienced a childhood filled with family and rich experiences in this unique state. I attended high school at Cheverus High School, a Jesuit college-prep school in Portland. I went to college at Bowdoin College in Brunswick. Although I moved away from Maine after college, including a few years at Northwestern University to complete my MFA in painting, I return each summer to the coast where I grew up to visit family and to touch-base with the place that I still call home. Currently, I live in Santa Cruz, California. I am the father of two sons, a painter and a teacher. My artwork can be viewed on my website, www.joeltarbox.com. Somehow, in the midst of all of these demands, I find some time to write. As with many of my paintings, my writing usually calls me back to Maine. End Lines is my first novel. It combines a love of Stephen King's stories, an interest in some of the quirkier aspects of Maine history, and large dose of imagination. I'm currently working a second novel; a memoir.
