This is the story of three teenagers, who live in different parts of the country. Each undergoes a traumatic event that results in their receiving a supernatural gift, though all are different. As they go through their formative years, they try to understand why they were gifted, and as important, how to use the gifts. They meet at college, under conditions that could only have been orchestrated by God. They see that their abilities complement each other and are led to understand that they were meant to work in concert. They become involved with the U.S. government in the 1950's, when the cold war and space race were in full swing, and travel to the Soviet Union undercover to assist in assessing the Soviet capability. While in the Soviet Union they discover that an atomic weapon has been stolen by Arab extremists with the intent of detonating it in Israel. The methods they use to track the bomb, and God's obvious direction for their task make for an exciting and prophetic climax to the story.
