The author is a Fulbright scholar with a doctorate degree in chemistry and a United States patent. He has a 45-year career in research, and taught at Washburn University, Topeka, Kansas; Northwestern College, Orange City, Iowa; Missouri Southern State College, Joplin, Missouri; Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman; and Mosul University, Mosul, Iraq. The author was born in Egypt and lived for 40 years in the Middle East before moving to the United States in 1981. He has three grown daughters and six grandchildren. He lives with his wife in the Florida panhandle.
