About the Author

Robin Nixon has worked with and written about computers for over 30 years (his first computer was a Tandy TRS 80 Model 1 with a massive 4KB of RAM!). He has held several roles in Britain's main IT magazine publishers, including editorial, promotions, and cover disc editing, from which Robin built up a successful company which at one point produced half the cover disks on the UK's computer magazines. He was one of the first developers to utilize the early Internet, and one of the web sites he produced broadcast the world's first Internet radio station licensed by the music copyright holders. In order to enable people to continue to surf while listening, Robin also developed the first known pop-up windows. Since then Robin has developed numerous websites and applications, using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL, and other technologies, and now spends most of his time passing on his acquired skills with his best selling computer books.
