About the Author:
Chris Vargo is the epitome of an entrepreneur. He has reinvented himself countless times in the past 30 years—continually pursuing new passions and, in the process, embracing new experiences and pushing himself to new limits. Chris has held a variety of jobs: bartender, heavy equipment operator, trucker, business owner, salesman, model and even a short stint as a clown. Over the past 17 years, Chris has focused his energies on establishing planetpalmsprings.com and building a successful fitness training and massage practice in Palm Springs, California. Despite his many interests and vocations, Chris has never defined himself by what he does. He dislikes labels as much as he dislikes rules. And he does not believe in categorizing people in any way. Doing so, Chris believes, limits the potential of what can be achieved by the collective force of humanity. His desire to bring people together to build a better world is a theme that permeates all of Chris’s poetry. Inspired by his love of nature and the many people who have influenced him throughout his life, Chris began writing poems in 2008 as way to give voice to his optimism, his childlike wonder of the world, and his unwavering belief in the power of the human spirit. “In the beginning... Forever, we shall be” is Chris’s first novel-length poem and the first in a series of books that examines the human condition. In it, Chris blurs the lines between fear and desire, past and present, fantasy and reality, and drama and poetry. By dismissing ordinary literary conventions and traditional ways of observing the world, Chris deftly interprets man’s age-old struggle to balance virtue and vice. Along the way, he reveals the magic that exists, however fleetingly, at the intersection of order and chaos.
