Synopsis

This report describes the first implementation of the “Protocol for Landsat-Based Monitoring of Landscape Dynamics at North Coast and Cascades Network Park” (Kennedy et al. 2007a). The Protocol contains a detailed description of the methodology for the NCCN landscape dynamics monitoring and provides the context for this report. In this report, we summarize the changes made to the original protocol methodology during its implementation. We also provide the results of the 2004/2005-2006 change detection analysis and validation for MORA, NOCA and OLYM. Lastly, we evaluate the ability of this protocol to address the NCCN’s landscape dynamics monitoring goals.
