This book originally started with ' an idea ' where most novels start > I had to do research about Van Diemen's Land (never having been there) reading mostly as I didn't have access then to the web> lot of notes and bringing in characters to move the plot along. Because the plot is centred in London and Van Diemen's land in 1850 Victorian times, when the last of the women convicts were transported to VDL it had to be an exciting thriller based on Historical facts. Murder, Insanity, Intrigue , and of course Romance all the ingredients for a thriller.

About the Author

Anne Reeve was born in Barry, Glam in1935 and grew up in Malpas, Newport. She worked at 603(M) HAA Regiment RA/TA  Malpas - where she met her husband John - they moved to Margate and London taking on  hotel tenancies at The Walmer Castle and The White Lion  in Islington London.
She gained a University degree in 1980 Social Science, Education and Dramatic Art - Directing -Producing - Acting- Script writing -Theatre workshops.
Now lives in Cwmbran South Wales UK - has four children, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She is Chairman of Cwmbran Writer's Group where members all work together in a friendly atmosphere , writing poems, plays, stories and workshops.
Anything that acts as a springboard to develop writing is used. Between them the Group have produced magazines and local history groups.
