Somewhere between chasing other animals for food and clicking a mouse to purchase a toaster oven on Amazon.com, we stopped living a physical life. Instead, we are encouraged to work on our inner selves, to practice mindfulness, to meditate, and to get our minds right, whatever "right" means. Social media gives us "Monday Motivation" and shouts daily positivity. Law of attraction followers say that our thoughts directly change our lives, that we can manifest what we want from the universe. Many books are written about mindset and how our minds can control everything, from our love lives to cancerous tumor growth. Prominent people tell us to start from our why and look inward to live our best life.
But that's all wrong. Or, at least, incomplete.
We are physical animals, first.
Apart from its numerous well-documented health and aesthetic benefits, physical conditioning, whether running 10 miles or squatting 200 pounds, literally changes you on the inside. It strengthens your belief in yourself and what you can do. It fills the hole created by insecurity.
This transformation starts with physical conditioning.
By working on your outside Body, you can actually alter your inside physiology, change your Brain chemistry, and change your outlook on life... and on yourself.
In this transformative book, Work Out reminds us that the human existence is physical and, when you train your Body from the outside in, rather than from the inside out, profound changes occur to your Brain, which stimulates your Mind and your approach to life.

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. There are many fitness books devoted to getting a better body. There are also many books devoted to the mindfulness, inside-out approach to success, several of which focus on exercise. However, there has not been a book that turns the inside-out concept on its head (pun intended), taking an outside-in approach to show how strengthening the body first leads to a stronger mind and inner self. Work Out fills that void, first by explaining how exercise creates the sound mind and changes us on the inside and then by describing the workouts to create the sound body. Physical conditioning literally changes you on the inside. It strengthens your belief in yourself and what you can do. It fills the hole created by insecurity. By working on your outside Body, you can actually alter your inside physiology, change your Brain chemistry, and chan.
