Synopsis
For Nat, The Whim Creek Pub is a place to work hard and forget about the pains of the past. For Alex, her daughter, living in Perth with her father, Whim Creek is the end of the earth, and she doesn't care if she never goes there again. For Narla, Whim Creek is the beginning and the end of the life she and her people have always known. But what is it about this harsh, isolated place in The Western Australian Pilbara region that unites these women and helps us to understand that we are all connected, to each other and this deep red earth from which we came?

About the Author
Veronica was told by her school librarian, at the age of 13, that if she wanted to be a serious writing then she would need to live an interesting life. Taking the advice to heart, she has spent the last 35 years travelling and working throughout Australia, South East Asia and Europe. While driving across the remote desert area of Western Australia in around 2008 and reflecting on a recent adventure in India, it became apparent that she probably survived enough life experiences and experienced enough cultural diversity through travel, to begin. Veronica is currently living in Paris and working as a English teacher and translator.
