About the Author:
E. Davon Kelly, President and CEO of NOVAD Management Consulting, uses his expertise in business, finance and project management to assist clients in optimizing operations and enhancing competitiveness. Since 2003, NOVAD has provided project management, strategic planning, business process re-engineering, financial advisory services, asset and property management, IT support, and training and coaching services. NOVAD has grown from a one-man shop to a multi-million dollar company employing 30 full-time employees and independent contractors in the Washington DC area and Atlanta, GA. NOVAD has been the prime contractor for multi-million dollar projects. Through Davon Kelly’s leadership, NOVAD’s successes include process improvements for the Small Business Administration, providing expertise in project management for the Food and Drug Administration; and audit services for several Federal Government Agencies. Before establishing NOVAD, Davon Kelly garnered over 15 years of experience in commercial banking, general accounting services, organizational assessments and project management with both the Federal Government and large private industry organizations. Davon Kelly continues to leverage his business acumen; opening My Barber’s Lounge (MBL), a chain of upscale barbershops in Greenbelt and Forestville, MD. The barbershops have become another vehicle through which he mentors and supports the development of successful entrepreneurs. The socially-conscious entrepreneur is a member of the Board of Directors for Boys Town of Washington DC and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Davon Kelly actively supports local charities and has coached high school basketball at Episcopal High School since 2007 earning recognition by NFTE as a 2012 Locally Grown Honoree. He has received other business awards that acknowledge NOVAD’s success. NOVAD is 8(a) certified, a MOBIS and GSA Schedule Holder and a certified Maryland Minority Business Enterprise. Davon Kelly has a B.S. degree in finance from Florida Tech University and a Master’s Degree in business administration from Bowie State University.
