Synopsis

Around the Table intertwines the recipes of mouth-watering meals with the twists and turns of the lives of two Italian-American families. As each meal is placed on the table so are the stories and memories surrounding that meal and the recipe for the reader to recreate. The struggle to integrate two cultures goes down a little easier amid steaming bowls of pasta and 73 authentic, simple, tasty recipes. The stories bring to life the family cooking, sharing gossip and family secrets, eating meals together and lingering around the table. Around the Table is a journey through the values of the past when dinner time was sacred, gathering around the table was encouraged and face-to-face conversation was sought after.
