Litnig Jin has spent his life yearning for the power to weave the souls of the dead into magic. His brother Cole has spent his believing in nothing bigger than his own two hands.
When a dragon sinks its claws into their nightmares, their lives will change forever.
A dream of moving statues, shattered chains, and seething clouds of darkness sets the brothers on a journey into the unknown. A prince asks for their help. A necromancer hunts them. The bloom of first love gives Cole something to believe in.
As the brothers travel the world of Guedin seeking to prevent the hatred of a god from coming to life, Litnig discovers he has more power than he ever thought possible. But learning why may cost him his brother, his best friend, and everything he is.

Soulwoven is the first volume of a four-part story I've been waiting to tell for my whole life. It's about magic and necromancers and dragons, yes, but it's also about brotherhood and identity and first love and friendship, and, to me, those things are more important than the flashy bits around them.
You might find, as a result, that Soulwoven reads a little slow sometimes. That's by design. If you want to stop and think, please do. One of my favorite prepublication reviews on Wattpad called it "Very, very like a piece of steak."
So that's the idea. It's steaky. Chew it. Think about it. Enjoy it. If it takes you a month or two to read the book, that's not anywhere near unusual.
And watch out for the ending. As Sachin Dev of Smorgasbord Fantasia said: "While it takes its time to get to more dangerous territories, once the narrative plunges into it - the swords sing and axes fly - there is no looking back."
Author, writer, and editor Jeff Seymour has been creating speculative fiction since he was a teenager. He is the author of the magical realist short story collection Three Dances and the epic fantasy novel Soulwoven, which has netted him over half a million reads and 14,000 followers online. Jeff has also edited sci-fi and fantasy on a freelance basis for clients including Harlequin’s digital-first imprint Carina Press and the Nelson Literary Agency Digital Liaison Platform. In his free time, he blogs about his writing and editing, pretends he knows anything about raising an energetic kitten, and dreams.
