About the Author:

Harry W. Baehr Jr. was born in Brooklyn, NY and received his primary and secondary education in the public schools of New York City. In 1925 he entered Dartmouth College, obtaining the degree of Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in 1925. In that same year he began graduate study in American history at Columbia University, receiving his Master of Arts degree in 1930. While at Dartmouth he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and in 1931 was appointed an Alternate University Fellow by Columbia. Harry received his Ph.D. from Dartmouth College in 1935 in History. The New York Tribune Since the Civil War was his first published work. He served as the chief editorial writer for the Herald Tribune and later the International Herald Tribune for several years. He had a lifelong interest in both American and military history. Christopher B .Price graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1977 where he received his BA in Anthropology and his commission as a 2nd Lt in USAR Transportation Corps. Chris attended “Airborne” school and was later stationed in West Berlin as a CPT when the wall came down. He currently is a member of the US Sailing association.
