About the Author

Jon Kieffer Jon Kieffer (MEF-CECP 2.0) is a principle technical writer working for Fujitsu Network Communications since 2001. In a previous academic career spanning 9 years, Jon taught software engineering at the University of Hull, U.K., and mechanical engineering at the Australian National University. Jon holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering and has authored 12 refereed journal articles and more than 30 conference papers in the fields of mechanical and controls engineering. In 2013, the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) recognized Jon as an outstanding contributor for his contributions to the MEF-CECP 2.0 Program.

Ralph Santitoro Ralph Santitoro is a founding member and serves on the board of directors of the MEF where he has held leadership roles in the MEF Technical, Marketing, and Certification Committees. Ralph created the MEF's Carrier Ethernet Professional Certification Program and co-developed the original MEF-CECP exam and the new MEF-CECP 2.0 exam. Ralph was editor of MEF 6, the industry's first Ethernet Services Definitions specification, and authored the MEF's Ethernet Services primer with over 100,000 copies downloaded. Ralph has lectured at over 70 events and has published over 30 papers in the past 10 years on Carrier Ethernet, SDN, Network Virtualization, Cloud Computing, QoS, Network Security, and Mobile Backhaul.
